I believe the focus of quantum computing will gradually shift from physical implementation to software development. Just like the evolution of classical computing, once the transistor-based computer design is established, it follows Moore’s law and evolves steadily, allowing software developers to invent many interesting applications. Now as the hardware design of quantum processors rapidly takes shape, we better start early to outline the blueprint of future quantum applications and use cases. Therefore, my research will focus on helping future computer scientists work with quantum computers more easily.
